Loren & Evan
For us, every wedding we plan is fun. But what makes it even MORE fun is when you’ve known the couple before they got engaged! Evan and I went to school together and I met Loren in 2009 while they were on holiday here in Stellenbosch. I adored Loren from the moment I met her – as the pictures clearly show, she’s just the bubbliest girl to be around! They got hitched at the magnificent Nooitgedacht Wine Estate in Stellenbosch on a lovely Friday afternoon, surrounded by their closest friends & family – some of whom travelled all the way from the UK, where Loren originates from. It was such a pleasure being part of your prettiest day! We miss you and look forward to seeing you {someday} soon!

The (more than 1000) origami cranes suspended from the ceiling was a joint family mission! A huge thank you to Christie from La Flor for suspending them beautifully!
The Crane Story
The Crane, which is known for its beauty and spectacular mating dance, represents fidelity in Japanese culture because it mates for life. Fabled to live a thousand years, the ‘bird of happiness’ is also a symbol of good fortune and prosperity. According to legend, the act Senbazuru – folding one thousand origami cranes – grants the folder a wish. Traditionally, the duty fell on the father of the bride, who would give the cranes to the couple on their wedding day and, in doing so, bestow on them a thousand years of happiness and prosperity. Later, the responsibility for Senbazuru lay with the bride, who would demonstrate her commitment to the marriage by folding the birds. Today. entire families gather to help assemble the birds.
